Personal branding photos invite us in.

That’s just what Margaret Enloe has done across multiple shoots, some professional, some personal.  All of which, combined, have comprised a very nice portfolio of personal branding photos. She’s invited us in, and as a coach, that’s precisely how she’s able to gain the trust of her clients.

But first, a quick question. It’s not off-topic, I promise. Has someone from your former life ever suddenly reappeared in your new one?

When Brett was an attorney Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, he became acquainted with his client PwC‘s Associate General Counsel Margaret Enloe. They lost touch for years when he left to pursue his photography dream. But, lo and behold, photography brought them back together again when Brett saw Margaret at an event shoot.

He invited her to BNI Chapter One, reigniting a friendship that continues today.

After spending some time getting reacquainted, Margaret asked if we’d do her corporate headshots. And then we did family portraits of her family at Thanksgiving (and what a beautiful, warm, loving family!).

“And I’m very glad,” Margaret says, “that our professional relationship as lawyers has developed into a very different, but definitely more fun, relationship in our second careers!”

Personal branding photos and corporate headshots for Margaret Enloe, career coach

Speaking of second careers…

Margaret now coaches people in career transitions. (Check out her website — and more of our photos of Margaret — here.) While she works with people in a variety of industries, she focuses on law firm partners who have a sense of trepidation as they face “retirement” from prestigious positions. And after retiring from PwC after 25 years, she understands their challenges–and opportunities–firsthand.  In her own transition, she received formal training as a Professional Certified Coach at the Hudson Institute of Coaching in Santa Barbara and has logged hundreds of hours coaching her clients.

Margaret has since become OUR long-time photography client. As you can see, she’s not only a professional coach. She’s also a loving mother, wife and friend. And that pic of her on the bike? Not just a stunt! Margaret is a lifelong athlete who enjoys biking, skiing and tennis. (Pssst! Ask her to share the photos Brett shot of her on her unicycle.)

See how Margaret lets not only us, but YOU, in?  That makes for very powerful personal branding photos, representative of a very powerful personal brand.

It may seem confusing at first, but the difference between personal branding photos and a corporate headshot is simple. You get a more in-depth understanding — or at least a more nuanced introduction — to the subject because the photos show you more than just a postage stamp of their head and shoulders.  Don’t get me wrong.  Those are valuable, too, especially on large corporate sites that want to give you a sense of their workforce without necessarily focusing on individuals. But for an entrepreneur or a small/mid-sized business, personal branding photos can introduce you to your prospects before you ever have a chance to meet them in person.

Dream big or go home

But back to Margaret!  What are her dreams, not only for herself, but for the world? “Peace, peace, peace.” Beyond that, she’d like all children to have a good education, and all people to have clear water and decent food.

And is this any surprise, given her occupation? “I want everyone to have the opportunity to work in a safe environment at a fair wage.”  Who wouldn’t want a coach like that?

And she helps make her dream a reality for her clients, who love her. That’s why we introduced her to our friend Keri Chervitz, who says “Margaret is unbelievably insightful and provided exactly the guidance I needed, helping me to stay positive through the ups and downs. I landed a terrific opportunity! Highly recommended!”

That’s one review of hundreds, all positive.

Personal branding photos engage us, but that’s only the beginning.
